Our Auxiliaries
Designed for low voltage and low currents, auxiliary contacts are secondary switching devices which work in conjunction with the main contactor.
Single pole double throw auxiliary contacts, used for low power circuit, can be utilised on the majority of our contactors. This changeover microswitch can be fitted which has a DC resistive rating of 5 Amperes at 24V (further ratings available on request).
Generally, we recommend that fine silver contacts are suitable to use on loads exceeding 100mA and 24V. When the current/voltage us below 100mA/24V then we generally offer gold plated contacts to improve reliability.
Auxiliary Part Numbering
The suffix ‘A’ should be added to the Type number when a standard Albright Auxiliary Contact is required. The suffix ‘C’ should be added to the Type number when a V3 or V4 (SW60 or SU60 Series only) auxiliary is required. Note the V3/V4 option is an economical alternative to our standard microswitch.
Notes:
- Resistance of fine silver can vary due to tarnish (affinity to sulphur).
- Contact resistance of silver can increase due to infrequent use or contacts and/or environmental conditions.
- Gold plating will prevent tarnish and generally improve contact reliability at low energy, however there will be a slight increase in contact resistance, but this will remain stable. Some environments can produce problems with gold plated contacts.
